Greetings…

Welcome to my web site. I created it as a collecting place for sorting, exploring, and remembering—much as other collecting places.  My collection includes information about my personal, professional, and scholarly life. Artifacts I have gathered are varied; some are useful for my students and me while others are just for fun. For example, I am a teacher educator, so I have collected information about the courses I teach: syllabi, assignment descriptions and instructions, PowerPoint presentations. My research explores a curriculum of place, and I have collected ideas and outlines of projects I’ve either begun or am in the process of designing. I hope you will also read about my research interests and scholarship—I welcome feedback! I’ve included my curriculum vita, which is my life on paper. I’ve also included links to my blog on Southern curriculum studies and to some of my favorite educational, research, and just-for-fun web sites. I hope you enjoy my place; come again soon.

TEACHING

How do I know I'm in the right profession?  As I tell my students, I always leave class feeling better than when I arrived.  As much as I enjoy research and writing, I am energized by the engagement and commitment of my students.
