I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology from Wabash College and my MS and PhD in experimental psychology from the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining the faculty at Kennesaw State University, I was a postdoctoral research scientist in the Center for Developmental Psychobiology and a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Binghamton University. More recently, I held a visiting faculty position at Mount Holyoke College and served as an associate professor of psychology and department chair at Troy University's Montgomery Campus. My research and scholarly interests include comparative psychology, evolutionary psychology, and the teaching of psychology. I am a member of the American Psychological Society, the Midwestern Psychological Association, and the Human Behavior & Evolution Society.
