KSUHSMUN Awards

The purpose of the KSUHSMUN is primarily one of education. However, it is recognized that students who have exhibited significant effort should be acknowledged. During closing ceremonies, delegates and delegations that have evidenced outstanding achievement will be presented with awards. Awards will be presented to delegates and delegations that are most reflective of the criteria mentioned below.

Distinguished Delegation Awards

Ten will be given. Committee Directors and area judges will determine winners. KSU students who specialize in a particular region will observe debate in all simulated bodies.)

Outstanding Delegate Awards

These will be given from each simulated body. Delegations will be allowed to cast a vote for consideration of these awards. The Director of the Committee, in conjunction with any other presiding officers, will make final determination of each award, and they will take into consideration the vote of the delegates.

The Bridgett S. White Memorial Award

This award is given to the top performing school at the KSUHSMUN, as determined by Distinguished Delegation Awards and Outstanding Delegate Awards. After the winning schools' name is engraved on the trophy, that school holds the award until the next KSUHSMUN. The award was created to honor the memory of Bridgett White, a student at KSU who was killed by a drunk driver in December 1994. Bridgett was a key component of the winning KSU Model UN Team, the KSU Global Society, and the KSUHSMUN.

Note: All decisions concerning awards will be made in consultation with the Secretariat, the Faculty Advisor for the KSU Global Society, and Faculty Advisors for the KSUHSMUN.
