KSUHSMUN
Procedure for Pages
All pages participating in the KSUHSMLTN will adhere to the following rules. The Secretariat hopes that through
the use of the following procedures, the pages will enjoy their involvement with the KSUHSMUN program, while
providing a useful service to the simulation.
Rules of Conduct
A] Pages are required to follow the dress code as it is described in the Delegate Information
section of the KSUHSMUN Handbook.
B] Pages work for the Secretariat. They are not part of any delegation and will not courier
notes from delegates in one committee to delegates in another committee, without the
permission of the presiding officer. If a page is asked to run notes to another
committee, they should speak to the presiding officer about this, and refer the delegate
to the presiding officer as well.
C] The following tasks
will be asked of pages:
Pass notes between
delegations within the committee.
Help count during voting
procedures.
Run short errands for the presiding officer.
Watch doors while the committee is in voting procedures (only the Secretariat
may enter or leave during voting).
D] If at any time a page is not comfortable with the requests of the presiding officer that he
or she is helping, the page should speak with the Secretary-General, Director-General,
or an Under-Secretary about the situation.
E] Pages are bound by all of the rules applicable to delegates in the KSUHSMUN
Handbook.
Page Placement
In order to make committee assignments fair, the Secretariat will place pages by allowing them to pull
committee names out of the hat. The page will be assigned to the committee they draw for the first day. The
second day will see a new drawing for committee assignments. This will allow pages to experience more than
one committee, as well as prevent page tampering by the committee.
Who Gets to Bring a Page?
The number of pages
needed for a simulation will be determined each year by the Secretariat.
Schools will be allowed
to furnish pages on a rotating basis and will be notified of their eligibility
at the time of Spring Registration.
