This site has been created to facilitate a deeper understanding of 21st century teaching and learning for all children. Among a host of learning outcomes, some expectations for student learning include effective communication, problem solving, oral proficiency, global connections, emerging technology, content knowledge and enduring understanding, civic responsibility, and social skills. These outcomes cannot be accomplished in classrooms that only measure verbal and mathematical competencies. Today's teachers must design experiences and opportunities for children to daily develop the above mentioned learning outcomes.
If the human brain enjoys solving problems more than memorizing information, then why don't we create classroom environments in which children are challenged to use a variety of resources to solve real world problems?
