Find A Book

To find out if the Sturgis Library has a book you're looking for, start by searching the library catalog:

  • GIL - KSU's Library Catalog
The catalog lists books, periodicals, government documents, musical scores, and other items held by the Sturgis Library, TRAC, and the Music Library. The catalog also includes electronic books.
  • New Titles in the Collection
This is a listing of book titles recently added to the library catalog.

If you can't find the book in the catalog, the next step is to try and see who else may have it. In most cases, current KSU students, faculty, and staff may request items found through other library catalogs to be delivered here.

  • GIL Universal Catalog
The GIL Universal Catalog searches the library catalogs of all the University System of Georgia schools and the state's Department of Archives & History. Faculty, staff and currently enrolled KSU students may request materials not owned by KSU through either GIL Express or Interlibrary Loan.
  • netLibrary
netLibrary maintains KSU's collection of fulltext electronic books. These books can be accessed from off-campus after you register, either while on-campus or through the library's proxy server.
  • Georgia Library Catalogs
This list includes all University System of Georgia libraries, as well as Georgia's private academic institutions, technical colleges, public libraries, and some special libraries. Faculty, staff and currently enrolled KSU students wishing to visit these libraries may do so after requesting an interlibrary use card from the library's Reference Desk.
  • WorldCat
WorldCat is a library catalog for materials owned by libraries worldwide. WorldCat is available through GALILEO and through the library's proxy server.
