Online response writings (Nicenet and WebCT, both): twice per week for at least fifteen minutes apiece, actively engaged in written conversation with class readings, class discussion, lectures, and other students’ response writings, graded  twice per term, A or F (you did it seriously or you didn’t); = 10% of course grade

Essay 1 due June 23, noon; Essay 2 due July 26, 2pm (1200-1500 words,  Chicago, in which case, notify me); ecopies attached as Word files to my two “external” emails; use Works Consulted (cumulative--viz., E1 Works also appear in E2’s Works Consulted); MLA format unless you inform me that you have professional needs to conform, say, to APA or  Chicago Style: E1 +E2 = 80% course grade
