Teaching Experience
I consider one of my greatest strengths as a teacher educator at KSU to be the experience that I bring with me to the classroom. With few exceptions, I have taught every grade level and ability level of social studies and English. I’m proud of this, and call upon my experiences to inform my instruction in the college classroom.

Experience
From 2001 to 2005 I worked as a Program Consultant at the Louisiana Department
of Education. I worked with district teachers and other professionals within the
Division of Student Standards and Assessments to develop statewide content
standards and assessments that tested the mastery of these standards. In my work
with the Division of Professional Development, my colleagues and I developed
training modules to help teachers implement the Grade Level Expectations
mandated by the federal law, No Child Left Behind (2001). We traveled throughout
the state presenting the Grade Level Expectations Educational Model (GLEEM) that
helped teachers develop and implement effective instructional strategies and
assessments to use in their classrooms.
